The Community is a reading circle, not a social network. It's the room where learners share a line from a book that surprised them, post the story they just wrote, and cheer each other on.
There are no follower counts here, no feed to chase, and nobody DMs you. Just books, stories, and other people learning the same language you are.
Mistakes are welcome
Broken German is the whole point. You're here because you're learning, and learning out loud is how it works. Nobody is grading your grammar in the Community - we mean that.
Never mock anyone's language level, correct someone uninvited, or make a joke at the expense of how someone writes. If you want to help, cheer - don't correct.
Be kind. Assume goodwill.
Most misunderstandings here are language gaps, not bad intentions. If a comment reads oddly, assume a translation hiccup before you assume an insult.
Treat every pen name the way you'd treat someone sitting next to you at a reading table: a real person, giving you their evening.
What's not allowed
Harassment or hate. Attacking someone for who they are, pile-ons, slurs, threats - none of it, ever.
Explicit or shocking content. No sexual content, graphic violence, or anything meant to disturb. This is a reading room; keep it one.
Spam, self-promotion, or ads. No links, no "check out my channel," no selling anything.
Sharing personal info. Don't post your own address, phone number, or financial details - and don't post anyone else's, ever.
Pasting copyrighted text. Don't type or paste passages from books or articles you don't own the rights to. Share a reference instead - the app already lets you point at the exact lines.
Impersonation. Don't pretend to be another learner, a staff member, or anyone else.
Posting is 13+
You need to be 13 or older to post or comment in the Community. Reading along is open to everyone the app already allows in.
Reporting and blocking
Every post, comment, and profile has a Report button. Use it any time something feels off - you don't need to be sure, just say what you saw. Reports go to a real person, not a void.
You can also block anyone. Once you block someone, their posts and comments disappear from your Community - quietly, with no notification to them.
What moderation actually does
Before anything goes public, an automatic check screens it. Most posts pass instantly and you'll never notice this step.
Every report is reviewed by a person. Not just counted - read.
If something's removed, you get a reason, sent as a letter. We don't believe in silent deletions.
Repeated or serious violations lead to suspension. Most people never see this side of the Community.
Questions, appeals, and copyright notices
If your content was removed and you think that was a mistake, or you're a rights holder with a copyright concern, write to support@lingualume.com. A person reads every message.
This is a living document. If it changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you - not just quietly edit it.
